From Germany to Naples
Schmitz Foods is a family owned business built on tradition, quality and a passion for authentic taste. Growing up in Germany, food was always about craftsmanship, reliability and bringing people together.
We first moved to Naples in 2021 and opened two boutique stores that quickly became part of the local community. In 2022, Hurricane Ian destroyed both locations completely. After much consideration, we returned to Germany to regroup. Yet we never stopped missing Naples and the open, welcoming spirit that had drawn us here in the first place.
Coming back was not just a business decision. It was a commitment to start again and build something meaningful. When we decided to start Schmitz Foods, our goal was not to create a large restaurant, but a place where customers can find real German products without compromise.
We carefully select our specialties and work with trusted suppliers to ensure consistent quality and authentic flavor. Our concept is simple: authentic products, clear standards and friendly service.

Schmitz Foods is just the beginning. We believe in building something sustainable and solid, one step at a time.
Baking has always been a true passion for Julia. Over the years, she developed and refined her own recipes, creating increasingly complex cakes and handcrafted breads for family and friends. About ten years ago, she began cultivating her own sourdough starter and mastering traditional bread techniques.
Turning this passion into a professional craft is part of our long term vision. As we continue to grow, we plan to expand our capabilities and gradually introduce more of Julia’s own creations to our customers.
Step by step, we want Schmitz Foods to become a trusted destination for authentic German flavors in Naples, combining carefully selected specialties with handmade products rooted in tradition.
